Netball
Super Netball in Australia has added a 2 point super shot, which is available in a 5 minute power play in the last 5 minutes of every quarter. The 2 point zone is 3m to 4.9m from the pole.
Clubs and players are not happy at how this has been decided and announced a few weeks before the league starts. Not every team has a long distance shooter.
I personally think this is an exciting addition which introduces another skill to the sport.

Russian women would be well suited to netball because they're tall and are already familiar with basketball, so similar skills. Probably volleyball players are similar. Volleyball barely exists in UK but we know what it is.

Same for Germans. Why should anybody play "basketball the lame Corona practice edition"?

Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.

Of the women's team sports in Russia, the most popular are volleyball, handball and basketball. They are fully professional. I like to watch female handball.
Re: Netball
I think that for 99% of the planet’s inhabitants, besides Russia and Scandinavia, they have never heard what Russian hockey is. And here it is one of the most popular sports. especially in the Russian northern regions and Siberia. By the way, there are national teams from Germany and Great Britain in this sport.

I know what Russian hockey is. We call it bandy but it's not played here. We don't have any rinks big enough.

I think Russia could turn some of their volleyball, handball and basketball players into a netball team and be a top 6 team in the world in a year. I'm not joking.
Re: Netball
Probably. But I did not hear that in Russia someone was playing netball. Although we even have amateur championships of Russia in such exotic sports as baseball and American football.

Doesn't speak for the sport. If you try converting netball players to a global sport like handball, you probably would still not make the top20.

If you continue this topic. Many people know my forecasts about the USA. I have already analyzed what game sports are developed in Alaska and the Hawaiian Islands. Alaska is ice hockey, basketball, baseball and American football. Hawaii is American football, basketball, volleyball and baseball. Rugby is developed in Alaska and Hawaii, but at an amateur level. Although we can invite a significant part of American football players to rugby. In Russia, a positive example. Look at Slava Moscow for the second year played by former American football player Omari Grinyaev. You will recognize him by the pigtails. But in Hawaii there is a large stadium with 50,000 seats. The Russian national rugby team will be able to play some of their home games there, possibly in the Pacific Nations Cup. How do you like this idea?

Re: Netball
Imagine in 5-10 years. In the Russian national rugby team there will be several representatives of Alaska and the Hawaiian Islands singing the Russian anthem. This will be the gap of all the templates!

Re: Netball
Apparently they stopped publishing it, it probably makes a lot less sense in open competitions, where everyone can qualify.
Handball has had world champions in female/male competitions from 4 continents though (Europe, Asia (South Korea), Africa (Egypt), South America (Brazil).

Also I was quite surprised to learn, that the IHF has 201 member nations (the double of rugby
which only has 102 full members)

As plausible as there will ever again wave a German flag over the castle in Königsberg.

Re: Netball
Australia down in last place. They want to be good at everything. There is no point in Great Britain even trying at handball. I'd be surprised if we even entered a team. We need to invest only in basketball and netball. However, if a country like Russia, Serbia or USA wanted to be suddenly good at netball I am sure they good do it very quickly.

Re: Netball
Forget about Kaliningrad forever. This is Germany’s minimum compensation for 27 million Russians killed and the destruction of half of the USSR. Say thanks to Russia and Stalin that they did not allow the Anglo-Saxons to completely destroy Germany and erase the German people from history. Stalin then answered them like that. "Hitlers come and go, but the German people remain!" It is a pity that the Germans forgot it. Just like many of them forgot who allowed the reunification of Germany.
Re: Netball
The real anthem of Germany. This is real Germany without Nazism, liberalism, migrants and Gay Parades. I hope that you will return this anthem after the last NATO soldier leaves Germany. And Germany will be in a new alliance with Russia. By the way, Russia also had a dull anthem in the 1990s, but Putin returned our old recognizable anthem.

Re: Netball
Our hymn hasn't changed a bit (it was btw written by liberals) Nobody wants Königsberg back. But nobody as well wants Hawaii (have to laugh every time you write it) to join Russia.
Nowadays we only sing the third verse, as words like"von der Maas bis and die Memel, von der Etsch bis an den Belt" (from the river Maas up to the Memel (river through Lithuania), from the river Edge (river in South Tyrol) up until the Belt (part of Baltic sea vlose to Denmark)) is simply a bit outfashioned.

And what's the difference for a German, where will Russia end. All the more you will have visa-free travel within our new union. From Dusseldorf to Honolulu is better than from Dusseldorf to Vladivostok. Germany will change the anthem after the de-occupation. This is the obvious course of history.

Re: Netball
Russia sold Alaska, Germany lost most of what was Prussia, Britain lost most of Ireland. We can all dream that our countries will be restored to their full integrity but that's not going to happen. At least you got Crimea back. But expanding your territory is not what our countries should be doing in the 21st century.
