Hi. Can any of our Georgian Posters please help me out with some translation please? I have found a Georgian Folk Band called Gjufi Bani I believe. Can somebody please translate the words to English for me? I love the song!!!! The song I believe is called Kavkasiuri Balad. I think it's a Traditional Folk song but am not sure. Any additional information will be greatly appreciated.
Not in direct reply to your post, but if you're interesting in folk music from around this region you might have fun with this map. Just click on the blue pins and it'll play you a traditional folk song from that region:
haha Georgians might've missed this thread since they rarely come to this side of the board. I believe people have that song translated in the youtube comments though.. in fact here i already found it:
I look at green landscapes of Chechnya and the sun has opened it's fan, dark towers has started singing and ancient Gilgo sings with them
Daughter of Chechen has stolen my heart and my soul needs to fly towards her cliffs and gorges can't stop me tonight I must be in Mitkho
I'll put you in my cloak till dawn and we'll run in snow with my horse. tired of road my arms will be your pillow and I'll warm your frozen hands
and if anyways chasers will catch me, let it be the will of Lashari Icon, remember, I've always loved you and I've never been liar or coward !
and when mist will cover my eyes I'll give my soul to son of a god, Christ my motherland will cry when I'm dead and my heart will beat in Chechnya
also the one Rowan posted is some kind of turkish or azeri/armenian music. Georgian and North Caucasian music are as different form that as Fire and Water. These guys are singing in mountain style.
