Pools a bit unbalanced: someone took Usa or Canada as tier IV, someone other took Andorra or Romagnat : )

France seeded 12 also looks a tough one!
Truth is, of course, that the seedings are based on previous years - and these teams did not play last time. Frankly, U18 7s will always be a massive lottery. Apart from England and Wales (who have the domestic Schools Games in the first week of September), there will be practically no form to base any seedings on. Just because a country is strong in adult rugby does not mean that their youngest juniors will be wonderful.

How to grow rugby worldwide?
Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.

England-Romagnat 47-0
Italy-Ukraine 36-0
in the first two games. Excellent game by the italian girls, mostly in the handling

Re: Women Sevens Under 18 Championship (Vichy- FR)
I've been busy today, but managed to watch a couple of the Dutch girls matches. Was delighted to see them go in 3 tries to 1 ahead at half time against France. Not sure what the French coach said to them at half time, but they were a different team after the break, winning 29-19. Couldn't watch the NL v Can match, but saw NL come back from 12-0 down against Portugal to win 14-12 after the hooter (despite being down to 6 players). Good nerves for the final kick.
With Canada and USA included as non-seeds (it seems) it was perhaps a bit tough on NL, Por, Ger and Rus who would otherwise have been struggling for a place in the quarter finals, rather than a battle fo 3rd/4th place in the pool. If the same format continues next year then hopefully the seeding will be sorted out.

I was going to copy and paste the results, but it would have taken ages to format them. Here is the link instead:

Re: Women Sevens Under 18 Championship (Vichy- FR)
Usa, Canada and France already in semifinal, together with the winner of Spain v Ireland
Unfortunately the first two wins of Italy against Ukraine and Romagnat were illusory; then they have lost largely with England and France and they appear more at the level of Sweden, Russia and Netherlands than at the level of main quarterfinals. I hope they may win an other game before the end of the tournament but it will be hard

Re: Women Sevens Under 18 Championship (Vichy- FR)
I haven't seen the final game but the score appears quite "crazy": 34-0 for France in the first half, 24-0 for USA in the second half, for a french triumph 34-24
Final ranking should be
