Large wins by the five favorites in the first round: France, Spain, Ireland, England, Russia.
In the other game the more and more surprising Poland defeated 29-10 an Italian team filled of girls coming from the second place in the Six Nations

Tomorrow's quarterfinals should be
France-Romania
Russia-Italy
Spain-Poland
Ireland-England
Out from the Olympics: Moldova, Czech Rep., Germany, Sweden
The swedish should be out by just one point: -54 points difference for Romania, -55 points difference for them

Re: 2020 Olympics
I found the Russia - England Result surprising I wasn't expecting that.
Re: 2020 Olympics
France v Romania 55-0
Russia v Italy 44-0
Italy out of the Olympic Game
Russia was just of an other level. It must be understood how they reached that level with a base (I suppose) not larger than the italian one, and if we can reach the same level with the kind of players we have in this moment.
It seems an athletic matter: they showed more strength and efficaciousness in the tackles and more power and speed in the run, they didn't show particular handling skills or tactical genius

Is this a statue outside Kazan stadium or a performer acting like a statue?

Re: 2020 Olympics
South Africa will not qualify for the Olympics or repechage irrespective of the position that they finish next week in Tunisia.
Edit: They can however qualify for the world series qualifier if they finish in the top 2.

They will be happy

It's not good also for the other participants; if South Africa won, the qualification to the Olympics would appear for the second team a prize conquered just because the real deserver rejected it.
Anyway I didn't know women Africa qualifying to the Olympics were already this weekend in Jammal, I thought they were in Johannesburg in november

Re: 2020 Olympics
I don't like it.. there should at least be a match between 2nd and 3rd as a decider when they don't meet in the semis.

To negate the "SA factor"? If yes, then I see what you are getting as SA could knock out a genuine Olympics contender at the semifinal stage. Actually, even at the quarterfinal stage.

SA OLYMPIC Committee have set the bar far too high, their policy of guarantee Medals only sports may backfire in the future.
