The dates of the last two matches of the RE Championship appeared on Rugby Europe website. As already known, it will be Spain Russia on October 24 and Spain v Netherlands seven days later. The first match will be in the Hortaleza field, an artificial turf in Madrid (it's not the usual spanish national teams field, if I'm not wrong); the second match will be hosted by Elche

Oceania Rugby revealed that the Oceania XV women championship, supposed to be played in Auckland in november, is called off.
Samoa v Tonga, which was intended to be part of the championship and at the same time a RWC qualifying match, will be played anyway, in the same Auckland in november

Cancelled after "consultation with ... public health authorities". New Zealand government and public health authorities clearly not willing to support hosting multi-team international sports tournaments at the moment. Even from countries with relatively low COVID numbers.

The question that should be asked, will NZ host the World Cup or go to a third country?

Bearing in mind their reluctance to host anything in the country and no vaccine available until next summer at the earliest.

Japan organizers have stated they are going to host the Olympics come what may, possibly without spectators and bio bubbles including once the sport has finished all athletes have competed they must leave cannot stay for the closing or visit the country but this is not official.

Yourscrumhalfconnection just published this link

Teams qualified for the women's 2021 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand may have to isolate before the tournament.
...
the build-up is "nerve-wracking with so much uncertainty"

An interview in italian language with Di Giandomenico, Italy's head coach. He is in charge on this role since 11 years, a record for an italian rugby nt coach both in men's and women's ambit. "World qualifiers will be our priority, the October 6N games are an important step to prepare the December matches"

Rugby will resume in Hong Kong in november.
The asian WC qualifying (and the Hong Kong 7s) are a bit less far

http://www.scmp.com/sport/hong-kong/art ... ams-resume

And the Japan 7s national team is periodically gathering

Yesterday I've read an article of a rugby website asking for RWC 2021 postponement, because of too much uncertainties about the qualifying schedule. I don't share that pessimism; I think the most problematic events will be Kenya v Colombia and the repechage tournament (this last anyway could be hosted in NZ, doubling also as a test for the WC organizers), but it doesn't seem so unlikely that they will be able to complete the qualifying schedule

Ramsey Tomokino, Samoa coach, confirmed november as probable time for the duel between Samoa and Tonga.
It will be played in New Zealand. There's still not a fixed date, however

Italy v England (Sunday 1 November) and Italy v Scotland (Sunday 6 December) will be hosted by the Zebre stadium, in Parma.
Those games are both part of the Six Nations but the second one is also part of the WCQ. And this creates a doubt: will not the european qualifiers be played in one only nation (as I thought)? If not, which nations will have two games at home? Maybe Italy and Ireland, better placed in the ranking?

Italy and Spain apparently because they will take rankings as before W6N and REWC since they couldn't be completed in time.

I don't know if it may have some meaning but Spa-Ned (Oct 31) was inserted in the World Rugby website fixtures, while Spa-Rus (one week earlier) still not

Who knows. As of today movement between Schengen and Russia is still limited. I know it's a sport context, but we are talking about a mostly amateur level so I'm not sure how easy it will be to arrange.
